5 Paleo Meals in Less Than 30 Minutes

We’re all busy and we all get hungry. Sometimes we get hungry and can’t wait very long to get our dinner.

It wouldn’t be a smart idea to go get fast food through a drive through because then we’ll binge on highly refined carbs, lots of sodium, and bad fat.

Below is a list of paleo meals that can be made in 30 minutes or less. Try them out next time you’re in a pinch!

How To Make The Perfect Salad

Salad is one of those things that is viewed by many as a “Diet” food or an appetizer.

NOT TRUE.

In our home we have salad as dinner about 3 times a month and the kids love it. With Kids it’s all about the toppings and the dressing. You have to make it pleasing to the eye in order for kids to want to try it.

For us we like to make as many things as possible homemade. I know that takes more time, but the more homemade stuff you make the more you know what is going into your body. Salad Would you like to try a FREE Week of 

There are so many advantages to a salad when it comes to our health.

  1. Possibilities are unlimited on what you can create.
  2. Making it a meal is easy.
  3. It is inexpensive.
  4. You are eating real food.

Here is what we use to make ours

Giving instructions is not needed but I will give them any way.

    • Layer your bowl with the greens
    • Then pile everything else on there you would like to.
    • Top it off with you dressing.

A Great Salad is super quick and amazingly healthy.

If you are looking to watch your fat intake you will want to do a couple of things.

  • Pick a lean meat such as turkey or chicken breast.
  • Leave off the yolks and bacon. (For the Paleo and Keto community this is a sin, but for those of you watching your Fat intake stay away)
  • Pick a Different Dressing.
    • Ranch taste great but it is higher in fat than some of its other choices. Look for a Vinaigrette or something with juice or vinegar.

More than anything have fun with it and eat as many REAL foods as possible.

7 Layer Salad Recipe

 

This 7 layer Salad is a spin off of the 7 layer dip that so many people take to parties.

We did this for our MealFit READY clients one week and they loved it.

Contents of salad
• 1 head of iceberg lettuce, shredded or sliced
• 16 ounce bag of small sweet peas, frozen
• ½ purple onion, diced
• 3 hardboiled eggs, chopped
• 4 slices of bacon, cooked and cut into pieces.
• ½ C Cheddar Cheese

Dressing
• ½ cup mayonnaise (Combine the rest to make the dressing)
• 2 tbsp White wine Vinegar
• ½ tsp Garlic Salt
• ½ tsp salt

Salad
• Layer each of the following into dish in the following order:
o 1/2 of the lettuce,
o peas,
o onion,
o egg,
o bacon,
o remaining lettuce,
o mayonnaise dressing,
o and top with cheddar cheese

• Wrap really well with plastic wrap; refrigerate for 24 hours. Refrigeration for 24 hours is not necessary. But it helps.

Gives an awesome appearance when you serve it in a glass dish.

Sweet and Spicy Meatballs with Broccoli Salad

Sweet and Spicy Meatballs were part of MealFit Ready this week and there were RAVE reviews. Jackie came by when I was cooking them and LOVED them. She went on and on about how good they were.

Delicious and easy dish that you can make for your family. Enjoy this recipe.

Prep Time: 15-20 min

Serves: 4

Ingredients
• 1/2 lb. of ground beef
• 1/2 lb. of ground pork
• 2 tbsp. of butter
• Salt and pepper, to taste
• 2 tbsp. of soy sauce
• 3 tbsp. of raw honey
• 1 tbsp. of finely minced chipotle in adobo peppers
• 1 bunch of asparagus
• Olive oil

Salad:
• 1 head of broccoli, rinsed and cut into bite-size pieces
• 6 to 8 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled,
• 8 oz. cheddar cheese, cut into very small chunks
• ½ c. red onion, chopped finely
• ½ c. raisins or dried cranberries
• ½ c. halved cherry tomatoes (optional)
• 1 c. mayonnaise
• 2 tbsp. white vinegar
• ¼ c. honey
• Pinch of salt and pepper

Instructions
Meatballs:
• Mix together beef and pork, add salt and pepper.
• Make into tablespoon size meatballs.
• In large skillet over medium heat cook the meatballs until browned and cooked through.
• Remove meatballs and add in soy sauce honey and chipotle and bring to a bubble.
• Add back in the meatballs and toss till sauce is thickened and meatballs are well coated.

Salad:
• Once you have cut the broccoli, cheese, onion and bacon into small bite-size pieces, mix them all together with raisins or cranberries in a large bowl.
• In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, honey and vinegar until well combined. If using tomatoes, add to dressing mixture.
• Pour dressing over vegetable and cheese mixture and stir together.
